Rules & Scoring
Official Atlantic Drift Series regulations.
1. Eligibility
- Drivers must be 18 years of age or older (or 16 with signed parental/guardian consent).
- A valid driver's licence is required.
- Vehicles must pass a basic safety inspection at each event.
- Season registration fee of $50 CAD must be paid prior to competing.
2. Vehicle Requirements
- All vehicles must have a functioning roll cage or roll bar (to organizer spec).
- Fire extinguisher required inside the vehicle, within driver reach.
- Helmet (Snell SA2015 or newer) mandatory.
- Neck collar or HANS device strongly recommended.
- Tires must be in serviceable condition — no exposed cords.
3. Competition Format
Each event follows a tandem format with qualifying runs to seed the bracket. Drivers compete head-to-head, with the lead/chase order determined by qualifying position.
- Practice sessions are held prior to competition.
- Qualifying: each driver receives solo runs judged individually.
- Tandem battles: lead and chase runs judged as a pair.
- Re-runs may be called at judge discretion for mechanical failures or contact.
4. Scoring Criteria
Judges score each run across the following criteria. Maximum score per judge per run is 100 points.

Line
How closely the driver follows the designated clipping points and track line.

Angle
The degree of sideslip throughout the course — rewarding aggressive, committed entries and maintained angle.

Style
Overall impression: smoke, commitment, speed, transitions, and crowd engagement.
5. Season Points
Points are awarded at each event based on final placement. The season champion is determined by total accumulated points across all ADS events.

6. Conduct
- Drivers must show respect to judges, officials, and fellow competitors at all times.
- Intentional contact with another vehicle outside of competition will result in disqualification.
- Drivers found to be impaired will be immediately disqualified and removed from the event.
- Judge decisions are final. Respectful protests may be submitted in writing to the series director.
